Openseat smallie fishing 5/9

    I decided to skip driving up north for opener and stay in town to chase smallies. I plan on heading out late morning or early afternoon. Rum river north of anoka or Mississippi north of 694.

    Good luck man. Ill be heading down there myself sometime Sunday to find some eyeballs.

    Still my biggest smallie out of that stretch came by Camden, and most fish 16″+ I’ve pulled more by Boom island area. That’s a tough stretch to figure out for bass and eyes.

    Not to bad for the smallies but the eyes are a tough one to figure out. I catch them throughout the year on accident but never figured them out.
