Hello – I am looking to do more longer, overnight fishing trips with my wheel house. What are your must have emergency items/necessities in your fish house?
Thanks. Chad

Beer, spaghettios and propane. Spare smokes so when you get that hammered you need spaghettios you can have a heater and relax after.

didn’t see that comimg
Bearcat, are u currently “that hammered”?
How bout TP and extra boxers?
-complete secondary fuel/heat source- some guys go as far as 2nd genny
-extra propane regulator and hose in case one is frozen, damaged, or stolen
-basic tools to change items out
-butane/propane torch
-TP/trashbags
– some extra food/coffee/water on hand if you get stuck out for an extra day or two due to storm or resort roads being closed down
Tools and oil to change oil in generator
Ether, jumper cables, Isopropyl
Second or third heat source,
Torch and/or hairdryer
Look at screws for door latch on the inside, make sure you have that screwdriver inside the fishhouse
Spare set of keys for fishhouse in truck, spare set of truck keys in fishhouse
Spare thermostat, Regulator, high limit switch.
Spare 100 million candle power strobe light assembly.
30’flag pole extension.
car battery jumper cable
Back up flashlight
Spare gaskets for the heater, old heater in shack had a gasket that would go bad occasionally around the sight window for the pilot light. Unfortunately the only way to know it was bad was in high wind, would blow out the pilot light.

I was a few beers away from being that hammered. I had to tame it down because I forgot both the spaghettios and the smokes.
Flashlight
Candles (great simple source of heat and light)
TP
Spare food
Shovel
HUB
Jack
Tow rope
Simple tool/repair kit
Lots of great things mentioned.
I try to be as proactive as I can and have several back up plans (back up generator, electric heater, buddy heater, etc).
One thing to add: if you’re shack is cabled have extra cable and clamps.
Pony up the extra money for stainless steel cable.
Also make sure you have an extra extension cord or two. They can crack in extreme cold, and you will need extra cord if you are plugging your truck in or need to power a battery charger at front of your truck.
