Does anybody have any recommendations (experience of staying at the named resort)for a good resort in the Central/North Central area of Minnesota. Good fishing is a must, but must also be kid friendly (3 & 5 yr olds), with a good beach. price should also be considered. Thanks.

There is a resort on Big lake called Sugarbush. Very reasonable in cost, great sand beach and shallow so good for the kids. The lake is a great lake for fishing too. Good panfish, good eyes and also has a good population of muskies and pike. They also have a large yard with nice grass and a bunch of family activities.

    Cabin for rent

This is cabin for rent from a fellow IDAer on Mille Lacs lake. Its located on the North end. It has an awesome beach ( sugar sand) for the kids to swim in!!! Also has excellent fishing right in front of the cabin. It does have a dock with a boat lift to store your boat! Also Brainerd is not far from the cabin to get all your grocery needs as well as a water park if you want to take the kids into town for the day!!!
Very private cabin with a very beautiful view of the lake!!

I have stayed at this cabin and would stay again in a heartbeat!!!! Very nice place!!!!

Check out Bear paw. It’s on Washburn lake near Outing MN. Stayed there a couple years ago. Perfect beach, great fishing – and VERY kid friendly(we have 4). We stayed in a vintage old school(BIG LOG) cabin w/fireplace nestled between Washburn and Donut lakes. Donut is small – good for Bass & Panfish, Washburn is big-kind of like 3 seperate lakes-good for Walleye & Pike.
    Check out the website http://www.bearpawvacation.com

    PS: rates are $500 – 600 weekly

This place looks really nice. Is it pretty remote? Are there towns/conveniences nearby? Are the cabins nice? I am thinking this might be perfect for a trip with 4 of us guys from NE Iowa wanting to get away for a few days and fish.
