Local-ish Rod Repair?

Need to move or remove a hook keeper on a spinning rod (would prefer to keep it). As a lefty, the hook keeper placement on the left side of the blank gets in the way of my pointer finger, so I’d like to move it 90 degrees to above the reel foot. Is it possible to do without messing up the original threadwrap/epoxy? If it’s too much of a hassle, I might just remove and install a Fuji Ez Keeper. Let me know your thoughts. I’m located in St. Cloud.

That should be easy enough to take off and put back on at a different position. I am not local for you but I am sure you can easily find someone in your area to take care of that.
