Does anyone use lithium batteries in lieu of lead on yr trolling motor or cranking battery? How do they hold charge on a long day of fishing? Looking to cut weight on my 619 and this could drastically do that. Also what brands are best and “economical”? Thanks, tight lines in 2017!

They sure do, group 31 run about $1200.00 each and weigh about 1/3 of a lead acid.

February 9, 2017 at 10:42 am #1672634I spent a lot of time researching them and ultimately concluded that they were too expensive. They do last a long time but so do good AGMs.

February 9, 2017 at 5:33 pm #1672759I looked into them this winter and most of them I found say to not use or store them below 32°. Which won’t work for me using my boat year round. The ones I looked at you run one battery instead of two or 3 for your 24v or 36v systems with the same amount of run time and much faster charging.
