Which one do I need? I bought one from Northern with no regulator on it. I also bought a filter. This will mostly be used on a 5 lb tank but I may use a 20 lb on occasion. So I guess the question is do I need a hose with a regulator on it?

The non quick disconnect screws into where the 1lb tank go so no reg needed and if you get the quick disconnect hose it has a reg on it already. I tried the filter and it would not run good so mine is sitting on the shelf.

If it has a regulator it does not need a filter. If it does not have a a regulator it needs a filter.

Does anyone know if they make a fitting so the older big buddy heaters will accept the quick connect hoses??

my experience with these units is that any time you are using a refillable propane bottle you should use a filter as any particles will clog the minute orifices. if using new “throw away” bottles no filter is needed…unless you are a person who refills those small bottles. good luck.
