    Shovels are like cops: Never one around when you need one.

    Unfortunately, with the DNR’s current over-cautious approach, there is no way that you will make even a dent in the population by hunting them. Even if you were lucky enough to draw a permit AND then you managed to get one, you’ve hardly dented the population in any meaningful way.

    Assuming that pack is just the 4 wolves seen in the picture–and I HIGHLY doubt it is, but just for the sake of argument– then you add this year’s pups and you now have a pack of 6-8.

    So taking out one wolf at a time is never going get the population back in control. Not a good situation.
