I have a new 798 and have used it about 5 times and it worked great. However the last time I took it out the SI and 2D screens are blank and the depth jumps around from 800 to 1000 ft. Anyone have any ideas on the issue?
Sounds like the transducer was knocked upward
That was the first thing I thought of too, but it was locked in place.
if you know someone with this same unit then I would put your head unit on their mount and see if it works correctly. if it does then you have a bad transducer but if it does the same thing as when it is in your boat then there is something wrong in the unit it self. to bad you are not from Minnesota as I could test it for you on my boat.
