What’s everybody using? I’ve been using the silica ones that I plug into the wall every once in a while. Anyone use the golden rods that plug into the wall all the time?

My large safe has the plug in “Golden Rod”. Seems to work fine. The other 2 smaller safes have the same silica ones you mentioned. All safes are in the basement, and it is fairly dry air to begin with.

And if big brother is listening, my safes just store papers, pictures, and some other personal items. No firearms or ammo, lost all of that in a boating accident.

I have a golden rod installed but quit using it since the area in question is dry in the winter and humidity controlled in the summer. I was afraid of it being too dry for the wood. I oil the contents at least once a year and nothing in there ages.
