What’s a good price for a 2.5 gal jug of Glyphosate? TSC has 20% off chemicals for members. Puts it at $48. Should I wait for something better?

Go to your local coop and mix it yourself. You can get generic brand for 1/2 the cost

If it’s 41% glyphosate with 15% surfactant, that’s as good a price as I’ve found for 2.5 gallons anywhere.

I usually buy from Rural King and I can get 2.5 gallons of Drexel Imitator Plus or Agristar brands for $49.95 shipped to my door. 41% gly, 15% surfactant. It’s a little cheaper if I order 2 X 2.5 gallons because shipping costs don’t double even though the order did, so I can get 5 gallons for $93 shipped.

So the bottom line is the TSC price is a pretty good price. I’ve only rarely been able to get it cheaper, so at that price, I wouldn’t hold out.

I’m a crop consultant and am plenty familiar with prices on this type of stuff. This is about as good of a price as you are going to find for that jug unless you are buying big volume and are looking for 100’s of gallons at a time.

Just make sure its 41% not 19% or less. If it is 41% then yes that’s a good price.

Since we are on the topic, how long is a jug good for as far as shelf life? I forgot 2 jugs in my buddies unheated shop last fall. Luckily I brought my Clethodim home. That stuff isn’t cheap.

It should be fine, I would just shake the jugs up before I used it.

Ideally I try not to let if freeze, but I have forgotten some and it froze and it worked just fine still.

Yes, but prevent freezing if at all possible because if the jug freezes and splits open, then runs all over the shop when it thaws, you’ve got a nasty mess to clean up AND you’re out $50.
