I just bought some used do-it molds and one of them is a 1/8 and 1/4 oz shad dart. Anybody ever use these kind of jigs? If so, for what type of fishing?

I have used shad darts in 1/64 oz on finnicky crappies. red head, white body in stained to dark water. The fall rate and head shape give it an enticing action with a little lift/snap on the ultra lite and then a long 5-15 second pause to let the jig settle. Try ’em out.

They are very popular back east both in fresh and salt water. They are designed to fish more like a swim/twitch jig due to their cupped nose.
I’ll bet they work, but may hang up on the bottom farily easy.

We used those shad darts back east during the North American Shad run{Poor Man’s Salmon]in the spring of the year on the Delaware River. They were trolled. We would use 9′ noodle rods very light action rods because their mouths are extremely delicate. The fish would hit out of reaction, not feeding. The color of the dart was usually white with red hair and a light wire gold hook. Just a little info from a Easterner.
