Battery Storage

I thought I seen a post similar to this once, but can not seem to find it.

After a long season of hunting or fishing, what is the best way to store a battery for your trolling motor, marcum, aqua view, ect.?

I thought I have heard to run them dead and then recharge and run dead again a couple times over the non-season.

    Any thoughts/ideas?

I’m pretty sure you never want to run a deep-cycle battery dead. Keep it fully charged!

I take mine out of the boat and store in the basement. i have a battery charger down there and charge them a few hrs every month or so. Seems to work so far. My starting battery is now 5 years old.

I’m fortunate to be able to store my boat in the garage all winter so keep a battery tender on both batteries, starting and trolling and so far after 4 yrs have not had any problems with them. I do the same for my motorcycle and am on the 5th season with that.
