Anyone finding any morel mushrooms in N. Iowa yet.

    When it comes to mushrooms, I only hunt and eat the sponges, I am wondering if anyone has found any yet.
    I just picked my first mess of asparagus today, and boy was it yummy too.
    With all the rain in the forcast there should be an abundant crop of mushrooms this year.
    Any way, I am gonna try and find some this year.

    Is that close to across the river from you Rob or more south?

    Looked a bit today here in northern Illinois and it seems that someone has been in my spot (Branches cut and limbs broken) so ill have to go to my backup spot. im sure ill find some greys in the next week or so.
