This year has been nothing short of exceptional for giant fish on the Big Pond, but this one takes the cake. A 42″ 36lb king salmon was caught out of Milwaukee yesterday afternoon. People haven’t seen fish this big in decades and I have never seen them this big in my life. So, if you’ve always thought of coming down and giving salmon fishing a try, this may be the year to do it. Who knows how long it will be until we see fish of this caliber again……..

Trolled the reef in sturgeon bay. Went 14 for 20.
5 were over 27lbs. Biggest was 40″ 30lbs. Alewive population is back in full force. There will be some big boys harvested this Fall. Real big.

August 2, 2013 at 8:51 pm #1187247I need to get over there and get some meat. Maybe we should pull a few guys together from IDO or something? Just a thought.

August 2, 2013 at 10:39 pm #1187272If anyone is looking for a dialed in, professional charter in Door County, shoot me a pm. He will put you on these fish. I have no relation or affiliation with this charter. I have been on several salmon hunts on lake michigan and this guy runs a flawless operation.
