Can anyone recommend a good mechanic at a reasonable price to rebuild the top on a 1989 Merc 100hp motor?
    Thanks

I can’t speak from experience but Pro Power Sports in Ramsey is reasonable. Do you just need rings or new pistons and rings?

I had an 85 merc 115 rebuilt at Roberts Marine in Roberts WI for just under $2000. That was $1000 lower than any of the shops in Eau Claire or New Richmond. Bored out all cylinders and new pistons/rings. They have been my marine mechanics since I have owned a boat. Honest and Fair people.

Don, If location isn’t an issue give Jim a call (507) 533-4158. He’s down by Stewartville. Doug and I have both used him with good results.

It’s a ways from you – but Kovash Marine in Moorhead would be where I’d go. He ran his business doing exactly that for years, and developing a pretty large used outboard motor business prior to picking up Warrior last year.

Ogilvie – not often I see someone from Ogilvie – lived there the first 17 years of my life.
