Hi All, looking to plan a trip late May early June and was wondering if bringing your own boat is a good idea, are hazards marked well or is it boater beware up there?

Looking to stay on Crane Lake and motor up to Sand Point and Namakan, just wondering if navigating is a problem, I have GPS with contours and see marked hazards, but wondering if all hazards are marked.

    Thanks in advance.

Per usual, travel slow and lay down a line on the chart. You can find plenty of great walleye at that time on crane with very little concern for underwater obstructions. Of course, traveling to Namakan, means that you must first go through Sand Point, no real challenges as long as you follow the bouys. Next is the Namakan narrows, and it is beautiful, just stay to the centerline.
