Heading up with the family and don’t plan to take the rig but would like to have an option to cast with my son for anything that bites. Can anyone make any suggestions for areas where you shore fish. Staying on Sturgeon Bay if that helps.

Walk out on the lighthouse side of the canal and cast the rocks with cranks. Smallies in there that are almost always willing to teach a guy a lesson.
Hi: For smallmouth and perch take Bayshore Drive about 6 to 7 miles to the north to a county park by a quarry (forgot the name of the park). Never fished there but always bike out that way and talk to the retired guys in lawn chairs fishing from the breaker wall. Some days they kill the big small mouths. Mostly fish slip bobbers with live bait. Another place is in Potawatomi State park off the beach right straight ahead at the second “T” in the park road. Good luck !
