Duluth ice ??

    Any ice /fishing reports from Duluth, would like to get up there this weekend if the ice is still good.

    I called Marine General today and they said lots of people fishing off Brighton Beach. Some close in for coho, some further out for lakers.

    I’ll be up there tomorrow trying it out.

    It was fine off Brighton yesterday. About a foot or so.

    I was out there Friday and Saturday. There was over a foot at 50 ft. We didn’t go out further, because of the snow cover and wind making it a brutal trek. We should have traveled lighter.

    The ice was good on Sunday. (12-14″)and should be this weekend, its been cold up there this week.
    Just watch the wind, because the shipping channel is open.
    I wish I could get up there again, we didn’t catch anything but learned a lot.

    The ice was still good yesterday, today wasn’t a good day for it, freezing rain in the morning and now its snowing along with a strong NE wind…

    Heard today some people barely made it off as the ice was shifting and blowing out. Sounds like the season may be over. Be safe and check in with MG for current conditions.

    Still frozen…been snowing all day today. Mcquade has about a foot and a half of ice…and ice all over near the lift bridge/harbor.
