The Mille Aim tourney is this weekend launching out of Red Door on Sunday. Last I heard it was close to full with over 90 teams. Cant seem remember the last time Ive seen a contest even close to full on Mille Lacs. Since its a catch, photo, release contest there are no slot limits to worry about. Just a plain old shoot out to see who can catch the biggest walleye. Have a feeling this is one of the reasons this contest is so close to being full on this lake.

So the question of the day is what do you guy predict its going to take in weight to win this contest? 5 longest walleyes. Measurements are converted to weights.

Mike I don’t have a clue what the weights will be. However I’m interested enough that I might take a drive up there for the weigh in on Sunday.

Mid to high 30’s.A whole lot of 26 to 28 inch eyes in the lake right now.

Somewhere near a 27 inch average for all 5 fish. See ya’all at the weigh in. Good Luck!

p.s. Not fishing this but rooting for all of the IDO’ers.

I had heard that also Mike but on Monday I heard the number was right around 60, but I’m sure quite a few more signed up between Monday and Wednesday as there’s always quite a few who wait until the last second.

My guess is that it’s going to take 30 lbs to get in the money and 35+ lbs to win it.

I believe the weight conversion chart is pretty close to the following.
    Weight (pounds)
    21.5 3.6
    22 3.9
    22.5 4.2
    23 4.5
    23.5 4.8
    24 5.1
    17 1.8 24.5 5.4
    25 5.7
    25.5 6.1
    26 6.5
    26.5 6.8
    27 7.2
    27.5 7.7
    28 8.1
    28.5 8.5

Does anyone know if there is an “official” VHF channel AIM uses for launch and weigh in? Would like to tune in if possible.

Here is the official length to weight conversion chart I had saved on my phone.

Years past, I would think that it would take a 27″ average (40.5lbs) to win it and 26″ average (35.9lbs) to cash but I cant’ speak for this year since I haven’t even wet a line in Mille Lacs yet.

This should be one fun tournament!

It is 68 for take off. I would expect that they will keep it there for the remainder of the day.

Extremely excited to say we closed the entries at 97 boats . We are also very happy to announce that because of your support we will pay the full 8k for a full field payout

Sweet! Still a bit surprised it didn’t hit 100, but awesome that AIM is paying out for a full field! See you all there

Should be a fun tournament. Prefishing might surprise a few anglers whom have not yet wet a line this year on Mille Lacs. See you all on Saturday night!

Wow. Those are some impressive weight predictions. I would of guess close to 25 pounds. Then again I dont fish the lake very often. Its just good to see some excitement about walleye fishing on the lake again.

If is anything like the Green Bay one I fished it will be over 40 at least if not 50lbs for the average you are talking about. It was a hog fest that day.

After seeing the conversion chart I think 38.25lbs to win. A 26″ average…Wish I could have made it work to fish this one, maybe Leech! Good luck everyone

I’m hoping that somebody will push close to 40 pounds. My guess is low 38’s will take it. Lots of talented anglers in this field.

Also, for anyone in the area AIM hosts Ride & Drive’s at all our events. Stop by and take a new boat for a spin!

I’m really exited for this one. It’s going to be an old fashioned one day shootout.

Where do the results get posted? I was looking around the AIM site but couldn’t find the results from otter tail.

I wish I was fishing in it but I unfortunately it didn’t work out for me this year. Thanks in advance for the info.

The top teams did discuss what they did that day at the weigh in. It was video tapes. Not sure if AIM is going to post it some where or not.

Sorry but not my place to share there info on line.
