Crock pot safe for oven??

    had this old crock pot in the baement that didn’t work anymore. has a nice big crock with it, would the crock and lid be oven safe?? no markings on it. glass lid has a plastic handle that could be removed. brand is Hamilton beach. would be nice to use in oven. thanks.

    That’s a great question. My gut says it would be fine. It’s ceramic coated, correct?

    Be careful with that one..May be O.K. in oven, temperature change may cause it to crack, I think thats what happened when I tried it. What a mess.

    Your better off with a cast iron dutch oven.

    After a little bit of imbibing following a rainout while trout fishing, we ended up a friends place over night… We decided to put the chile mac that was in the crock on the stove top and when we went to take it off, the bottom was left along with what looked like a chile mac fez. We still ate it, but it was pretty hilarious!!!
