When times are tough….What’s your “go to” bait/presentation??

I guess when the bite is tough I tend to simplify and slow down-Jigs & Lindy rigs in Fire Orange tipped with mongo-sized leeches!!

Just looking for others’ opinions and possible something new to try when it’s tough.

On the river…if I was to really really need to catch a fish…This time of year i would put a med/large split shot 18″ above a live bait hook and hook a fathead thru the tail…

or just run 3-ways and drink a lot

I would challenge anyone to outfish a small blade…spring or fall with live bait…the blade elicits a reaction bite while still appealing to a “feeding” bite also.
Many, many times I have watched good live bait guys fish for hours picking up one here and one there while anglers C/R dozens of fish within sight of their boat pitching blades (plastics too). Not only here on P-4 but also on the Menominee River and Bays de Noc also.
