I’m just getting started with muskies and for now won’t have time to fish them more than a handful of times a year so I’m building my equipment on a budget. The rods that I’m using for now are actually just a heavy action bass flipping rods. They cast most of the lures well, with the exception of the really heavy stuff, but my concern is wether the tip eyelet will last. I’m also using braided line. I do put a plastic bead on the line above the leader to keep the metal swivel from smacking the eyelet, but I wondered if anyone can tell me if I should replace the tip with a more sturdy type. If so, do you know where I can get them and what type I should get?
