It seems as though my battery conections oxidize into a no connection every day of use. As this connection degrades the throttle (16 foot lunker 40 hp) starts to squawk.
This squawk makes me want to jump out of the boat and swim
    to shore.
    Whats up?

That doesnt make a lot of sense.. poor battery connections causing your throttle to make noise???

Isnt the throttle linkage more or less a glorified cable.

For the battery, go to any auto parts store and pick up a battery terminal cleaner.. it looks like a little can with a wire brush internaly and externaly for cleaning the battery post, and the battery cable. After you properly clean the terminals, apply some type of over the counter corrosion protector and you will be good to go on the battery issue and will have solid contact in the long term future.
