I recently ordered a Mercury 75R 4-stroke. Is there anything different or special that needs done compared to a 2-stroke when being winterized?

Yes, if Merc are like Yamahas, the flush hose must be drained before putting it away because it does not self drain.
The hose I refer to here is on the left side of my 115 Yamaha and has a garden hose fitting on it. Takes just a few seconds to
spin the fittin loose and lower the hose. Mine generally has between 1/4 and 1/2 cup of water trapped in the hose.
Second thing to do is to change oil and filter before putting it away. Rest is about the same as a 2 stroker.

Thanks LundgEye, I believe the Merc and Yamaha are the same. I believe that is what the Merc dealer told me. The lower units are different, but I think he said the rest is made in the same plants.
