Improving battery capacity.

I’ve seen posts dancing around the question, but here is the definitive question. If I purchase a second deep cycle battery, wire them ++ — will it significantly improve my run time? And if yes, will amperage be drawn equally from both batteries? Then, how do I connect a battery charger to charge the “system”? I would guess that connecting the posts to one battery would equalize across both both.

The answer to your question is Yes. It should double your run time. Thats assuming both batts are in good cond and the same amps etc. If you have a batt that is in poor cond now I would suggest buying 2 new ones to start with. The power will be drawn equally from both batts, provided you have good cables and connections. The best way to insure this is to hook your trolling motor to + on one batt and – on the other. Do the same with your charger and it should work fine.
