So I blew another trailer and will be getting 2 new tires, my question since my oriignal size isn’t made anymore, they were 215,

Do you go down to 205’s or move up to 225’s?

    Hi,
Many years ago I played w/ upsizing the (tire) width on a set of tires I was replacing on my travel trailer >>> BIG MISTAKE. What I learned was that I should have checked the inflated tire diameter of the new size before I bought and mounted (and eventually returned!) the replacement tires. The new size had clearance issues (loaded suspension travel) within the wheel well. If it were me I would downsize to a 205 (if clearance is seen to be an issue) and up the tire rating (IE. B to C, or C to D >> depending on what load rating you currently have).

    Take care,
    Roger

I cant believe the size isnt made anymore

Stay with recommended size and buy BETTER tires, maybe a heavier ply tire also

I found these Goodyear Marathons in Size: 215/75R14

    Trailer Use Only

    Sidewall Style: Blackwall

    Load Range: C

    UTQG: Not required for

    this tire.None

Tire Rack Dot Com. I even called them and verified live.

I highly recommend these trailer tires as do lots of fisherman around here.

I just called my tire guy (Pomps)and he said…

Stay away from the D (bias) tire and just go with same size tire in a radial 215/75R/14 and you wont have any issues.

He said that the Pomps in Savage has them.

X2………… You for sure want to go with the “C” load range tires and have them balanced……………

I found that tire size at farm fleet and etrailer.com. etrailer.com was cheaper, even with shipping.
