I casually asked about 1 last year with a pistol grip like he has on his $300 musky rods.

Walk in today and find 6 or so pistol grip bait casting rods in 6.5-7′
I’m all in. He even has a pike on the rod!
$120.00 limited. I asked why and he said he has no time because of demand on his other rods lines.

The guy makes great custom rods!

That’s a interesting Grip. It seems much smaller than the ones I’ve seen on other rods. Do you have any idea what blanks he uses on these rods? Did he had any longer than 7′

What weight and action are these?

What is the location of this place?

I have looked at those reel seats but have not build a rod with them. They just felt funny to me. I would like a review of how you like it. I believe that reel seat is the PacBay Revolution. Others make some similar to it. The smallest size they come in is a size 16. The handle will unthread so you can get it into your rod storage or replace the grip.

The handle forms an ergonomic “L” with the rod butt at your side for quick hook set. I’m excited to try it. I believe it will be a good small river musky rod also…..

Mike Keyes has been using something similar, the handle was longer though. I look forward to the review.

Been chucking it off the dock with a mepps #5 spinner. Takes a while to get used to the pistol grip. That’s a pretty light lure and it chucks pretty good! Now I need Canada to open up so I can put it through a stress test….

The one Mike Keyes used is a clamp on handle. You can add that to any rod if you would like to try it out. It is farther forward and clamps on the fore grip. My brother tried one of them and didn’t like it. I think it is more what you are used to. I can see how it may help.

I stress test my personal heavy rods by tying a ball to the end and fighting my Boston. The only problem now is when I take him fishing he wants to jump in after the lure.
