Looking for some info on how to fish dork rigs. I’m gonna get into fishing wing dams a lot this year on the lower end of pool 4. What size weights are commonly used, troll them, pitch them, throw em out and let sit? Any info would be great think it would be an easy technique for bringing kids out n catch fish.

    What is a dork rig?

It’s like a 3-way except the weight can slide on the mainline above a swivel. Never had good luck, always seems to tangle the weight not allowing it to slide. 3-way rigs is what I like to use. You can cast them into current or the face of a wingdam but I usually drop them off the side of the boat and use a rod holder while pitching live bait. No matter what you use, keep the line tight and let the current do the work. I use 1-2oz weights.

Put a couple beads between your swivel and your weight. That will keep your weight from from tangling with your swivel.

    What is a dork rig?

It’s a lindy rig fished stationary basically.
Inline weight. Can be slip weight, can be fixed like a split shot.

Can be casted to the side and current swept behind boat.

Essentially, a dork rig is a simple method of deploying live bait.

    Not one to over think
