I lost another dang phone down the ice hole.
I have to find a phone life jacket. I have never lost a phone in the open water only down a 8 inch hole. How frustrating. But the crappies were hot all weekend

How often do you drop your phone in the bottom of your boat??

STEP AWAY FROM THE HOLE or use a smaller auger.

Maybe not post so much on IDO while fishing? I don’t think I have ever dropped anything in a hole other than my lure. They make a retractable lanyard for phones to stop this. I got a feeling it will happen to me some day. I got a bad habit of putting my phone and my i pilot remote on my gunnels.

were you ordering a pizza and trying to set the hook at the same time?

It would help if you stop drilling holes in the ice.

Hmmm, I was cleaning a northern a few minutes ago and it had a hotdog and a cell phone in its gut.

I keep mine in my jeans pocket under my bibs. But just like Eyeguy said, it’s only a matter of time before it goes off the gunwale of my boat along with my ipilot remote.

No but I did that as well Friday night with out dropping my phone. Pizza came right out to the launch. I went to throw my phone up on the shelf and it bounced off the counter. It happened quick and I was shoulder deep in a split second reaching for it.

There are cases with clips to attach a lanyard. That is what I use and phone stays around my neck.

Try this. I add a phone float to mine. Can get them cheap on Amazon.

This way I don’t have to clip it to anything and can just lay it on the counter or a bed in the icehouse.

I’ve been on LOTW the last 4 days and have not unhooked my phone from my Robohawk yet. They work well!

I’m not going to chance my luck again this season. I fished this phone out once, doubt I’ll be able to do it again.

I use a robohawk in the kayak, clipped to my life jacket. Works pretty well. Would be easy enough to clip it to bibs or jacket in the winter, might need to start doing that.

I feel your pain. It happened to me a few weeks ago as well. That’s my First and hopefully last time. May have to look into the Robohawk.

Hopefully they make a longer model for guys like me that refuse to admit their eyesight is getting worse! I always joked with my dad that he was going to need glasses or longer arms. rotflol

^I was thinking the same. They need to be a little longer than that.

They actually stretch very far they are just coiled up for compactness.

There is a regular and XL length.

You know it is against the law in MN to use artificial light to attract fish? That sucks. Let us know how you like your robohawk and if you think it would work good for your boy. I have not lost (knock on wood) a phone down the hole but my son keeps dropping his around the house and it is only a matter of time. Does the phone insurance cover any of it?

Dropped my glasses down the hole helping kids a couple weeks ago. They were perched on a stocking hat and slipped off… only upside is that I need new Rx lenses do I guess I’m only out the frames…..

    Hate when that happens….
