Do we even realize that not everyone understands what we are trying to say? Especially if you are using ones that are used in the work place that you work, or a nickname for something in the place you live. Maybe it’s the new method of shorthand?

A few years back I was giving a long time P4 <<< fisherman directions using the scour hole <<< as a point of reference. He asked where the scour hole was.
Exactly to your point SC<<<

January 11, 2022 at 9:02 am #2088763As much as I get confused when others use them in ways I don’t get, I also have my own from work and home I use that others probably think I’m confusing.
January 11, 2022 at 9:05 am #2088764The idea of an acronym is to save time, but sometimes the obscure ones take up time because we need to look them up on the Googler! I’m not a huge fan of acronyms, as I find it easier just to type out the words – even when texting. I tried using BTW once and it just felt wrong. I do however use LOL but that one is probably the most common. I’m an amateur writer so my writing often has a more formal aspect to it.

January 11, 2022 at 9:53 am #2088793I’ve noticed that when people want to act like they are smarter then you they love to throw out acronyms especially in the business world. I see it alot with East Coasters.
My response to them – “I got no F’n idea of what your talking about.”

Much like trying to stamp “1/4 oz” on a floating jig.

Well, with supply chain shortages Brian, 1/4 and 3/8 oz floaters have been hard to find.
January 11, 2022 at 2:08 pm #2088933I have to use google to figure out most all the text and emails I receive from anyone under 30 these days. If they are under 20 – Good luck. there are using new acronyms that google has not even updated with yet.

Please reference the FJBS doc to formulate a SPAOP chart while taking into account the scope of the EMW and how PEHC will impact your QTC’s.

Now, with a new group called the BLM it can be confusing.
