I remember the thread a few weeks back on Mike W looking for binos. I just remember almost everyone has 10x regardless of make and model. That really surprised me, as when I did a lot of research most recommendations were for 8x simply due to increased shake at the higher magnification. My reccomendation for hand holding is go for 8x or less. A lot better for stable sight picture, increased field of view, especially in the upper midwest, forests, etc.

My Vorex 10s are fine. I do not notice any “shake”.

    Drink less coffee …

I ended up getting the BX-1, 10×25 from Midway. $69 and very happy with them so far. Nice size for sitting in the duck blind and glassing the entire pothole I hunt. Guess I would have to try a 8 power pair side by side for a comparison. This pair is night and day better than the old ones I had. And did I mention $69 .

I like 8x. I think my Burris ones are 8×42. They have been great.
