I scouted out some new to me public area in the MN river bottoms and there was barely any old sign, let alone anything fresh.

Ive seen a little silver cruze or malibu in the area im guessing you were lately. Just a heads up if that was you, right between the last two places I seen you park a giant 8 pointer walked across the road into the state land this morning at 9:20.
Thought i took an awesome video but all I got was a picture of my dash cause my phone was in camera mode.

Live from the street: was just walking the dog up behind the high school in a residential neighborhood. A doe was scurrying through the backyards and scampered across the street about 10′ in front of us. And, sure enough, a nice 6 was chasing her down, grunting all the way. And when we approached where they crossed you could definitely smell the “aroma”.

My daughter had the very same thing happen to her family while they sat on their backyard patio two days ago in Eden Prairie.

Ended up seeing 7 bucks, 2 does, and 2 fawns this morning. It was fun, but not the bucks I’m after. Switched to a new stand with a long slow walk. Saw 1 small 4 while walking. 2 new scrapes and a big rub here all since Wednesday morning.

I ended the morning with a fork coming in and pushing the 8 and the doe back into the corn. Sitting on the ground at the pond tonight hoping one gets thirsty.

Just had a basket 8 come tearing thru chasing a bunch of yearlings and fawns outside my office…as if I wasn’t pumped enough for this weekend!

Does live from the deck count? I could throw a rock and hit this guy but then would have to clean it.

That there is a beauty! Urban?

No I live in farm country about 5 miles out of town

Got this guy from the ground this morning working a scrape line by a swamp on some metro public land. I thought I was pumped until I got home and showed my almost 3 year old! This is my 3rd biggest ever, PB with a bow, first with my new shoulder/xbow and I couldn’t be happier. Good thing I drew a doe tag for rifle season.

I went to the edge of what I thought was the Beats lair this morning. Only saw 1 small doe.

Still have some snow and ice on the ponds after all this heat.

I’m in the ground for tonight. Only way I can hunt the spot I want in this wind. There’s a scrape about 40 yards away that my #1 had been on camera at 5 times in the last 8 days. Its the most frequent spot I’ve got pics of.

Had my good luck charm in the stand with me this morning. Next year he will be old enough to hunt so I can’t wait to see what his luck brings him, because I’m 3/3 on bucks when he sits with me the last 3 years!

I hope so! Since I’ve only got room for two stands on my property, I most likely won’t be hunting until him and my oldest son get theirs next year. Oldest boy sat in the ground blind all day! Never left! He’s determined. That’s pretty good for a 13 y.o. I think.

Although it’s the start of gun season, there is so much more to hunting than just harvesting a deer. Nature of all sorts is very busy in the fall as it was today for this frog. Click on the picture and see if you can find it!
