2014 “Lake Pepin Open” details!

As some of you may have already heard, Jimmy Siewert and the Frontenac Sportsman’s Club have passed the torch back to the Walleye Searchers of Minnesota to run the 2014 “Lake Pepin Open.” Hats off to you guys for all the many great years of running this tourney!

We will be doing an early entry drawing on this tourney also. If you have your entry in to me on or before March 15th you will be drawn in the early wave of boat numbers. Drawing will be held on March 20th. Entries received after March 15th will be in order as received.

Mike, do you know if this will be a NTC qualifier this year? I didn’t see it on the sheet but was just wondering?

Due to the changes that The Walleye Federation has passed down to walleye clubs and other fishing organizations the logistics of the LPO being an NTC qualifier have become more and more difficult. Because of these changes both Walleye Searchers and Frontenac Sportsman’s Club will no longer be granted open invites to the National Team Championship for participants in the LPO.

Teams interested in an NTC invite should look to join The Walleye Federation and then participate in a NTC Side Pot Tournament. Other opportunities may exist through local fishing clubs.
