Rochester Goose Hunting 12-07-07

The weather has been prime for goose hunting here in Rochester. There is snow and the temps are cool. There are a ton of geese in town right now and things are really looking up for the last season.

We hunted Friday 12-7-07, the last day of the regular season, and had a great day. The morning temps were very cold and with the help of the sun and west winds, the day warmed to around 20 degrees. There was a west wind around 5-10 that helped put the birds right in our face!

The first picture is of four happy clients we had. Thay had shot 3 just before I was able to get to the field around 11:30. Shortly after that, we had three come right in and got them all. Next was a 5 pack that came right in our face and none were able to leave!

At around 12:30, the birds really started to fly and the clients had to leave at 1:30. We stayed out and finished around 3:30 with our limit. Shortly after 2, we shot a par. Then a single another single and then one more. Mike ended our day shooting his last bird out of an very nice flock that came right in to 10 yards with there wings cupped and feet down.

With more fresh snow on the ground and more fresh bird coming into town, the late season starting Friday should be good.
