Door County Multi Species Action

With the summer fishing continuing to go strong we are still fishing for different species being that they are all going good. With warming water temps the Salmon have been moving deeper to adjust to warmer surface temps. We are still catching fish on flasher fly combos along with various different spoons.

I simply can not say enough about how awesome the Smallmouth Bass fishing has been this whole month of July. With warmer water temps than normal this time of year we are still catching incredible numbers of nice fish in relatively shallow water.Bass are being caught on soft plastics along with spinner baits when the wind is blowing strong.

Summer time is prime time for targeting Walleyes that are suspended over mid basin areas of the bay along with fish that are relating to mid lake structure. Most of the fishing is being done with crawler harnessess behind inline weights or snap weights but trolling crank baits such as the Rapala Husky Jerks along with Rapala Tail Dancers will also take fish.

We will continue to see this summer fishing go strong through out the month of August until the water begins to cool some time in September when fish will begin to relocate to areas that are close to where they will begin the big fall feeding frenzy. These areas are generally close to where they will stage before moving into there wintering grounds.

  1. Awesome Report Paul, from what I hear the salmon bite is nuts from Racine all the way up to Baileys harbor. Keep on em, and nice eyes and smallmouth as well. – Quintin.
