I was just informed that you can purchase just the I-Pilot head unit from Minn Kota online (part # 2880270) for $260 and then you can get a I-Pilot remote for $140 on minn kota’s website (Cabelas, $149.99), but retail for the two together is $450-499? It might be just slightly lower but what’s going on? Aren’t individual parts normally ridiculously priced or is there some kind of mistake?

Where did you see the price for the #2880270 for $260? Can you post a link? That is a lot less than a bunch of online vendors I looked at.

Believe it or not Minn Kota is actually very fairly priced on their parts. I spent the time once to add the cost of all the parts for a complete trolling motor and it comes out a fair amount cheaper than if you buy it as complete.
With that said I would just be happy that replacement parts aren’t crazy expensive like most other places!!!
