Looking in get a bigger hub house. I was thinking the Clam X600 as I have had the Jason Mitchell Thermal 5000 for about 8 years and loved it. I see the Otter Vortex Resort is on sale on Cabela’s. Does anyone have the X600 or the resort? And what are your opinions on either one of them? Thanks

Both great hubs. I think Scheels has their X600 version on sale also. Scheels will also price match. The C-560 is a less expensive alternative to what you are looking at but the X600 is in a much higher quality/durability rating than 560 in my opinion. I have the X400 and it has a nice bag, good zippers and very durable material. I don’t think you can go wrong with either of your choices.

Both companies make great products. I’ve owned different models of both and currently use a Clam and haven’t had any issue with either companies’ products. Go sit in both and see which one fits you better.

I think the quality of the otter makes it a better buy. I own both a clam flip and an otter hub.

I have the resort, and ruined for going back to anything else, highly recommend it.

The sizes of the Clam hubs are as follows :

X600 is 11.5 FT diameter hub to hub (six sided hub)
    X400 is 8FT x 8FT
    C560 is 7.5FT X 7.5FT
C890 is the same size as the X600 but just lighter fabric (600 verses 900 denier)
    C720 is 6FT X 12FT

the X Series is 900 denier fabric and you have the option to add a floor into them if you want too.

the C-Series is 600 denier and doesn’t allow a floor to be added.

your Jason Mitchell is 9.5FT hub to hub

For large hubs I run the X600 and I also still have one of the XL6000 Garages that is 8FT X 14FT. Clam discontinued the XL6000 but this year Otter came out with their version of it. only difference I could find out about it over the XL6000 was how high it was inside. the otter is not as tall. Also the end of the otter doesn’t open completely like the Garage did.
