This one isn’t in relation to any Ufdaflathead.

Instead this one pertains to DTRO. After fishing with him a few times this year he has managed to hook 4 turtles and its not even July. 3 snappers and 1 softshell. I have to say the softshell had us both thinking nice Flat.

So hence fouth I hear by dubb theee…… DTURTLE

    Dang, that’s a long neck!

Can you eat softshells? Snappers are quite tasty.

I tried one once. I caught a big one and thought it might be good. They taste like duck and a bit greasy. I probably won’t eat another.

I believe that guys neck isn’t extended all the way either. I think I wrote here before that a guy I knew in college had 2 little ones in a tank. They like to bury themselves with their heads sticking out of the sand. When they need air the telescope them up to the surface for a breath while their buried bodies remained in place..

dtro… is it possible to hold that turtle any further away from your body?

I’m waiting for the picture(or video) od dtro showing us how to handle eels this fall!

I can tell you that you do not want to hold them like a snapper. I was holding the rear legs and almost got bit on mine!

Holding them by the rear leg and he almost bit you! I spose they have to be able to defend themselves, eh? Just can’t picture one stretching back that direction, but I’m sure they are able to!

I think he meant it almost bit HIS leg when he was holding it by it’s rear legs. Although I am pretty sure those things could bite their own tail.
