The 917 is now a legacy product, replaced by the 858 which is rolling out over the next month.

The 917 is going to be a very nice sonar/GPS combo for you. The 7″ screen will make it easy to run in split screen mode and still see what you’re doing.

Make sure that you download the latest software from Humminbird.com (after registering your unit) to take advantages of all the software enhancements that have been rolled out since your unit was manufactured.

    Jason,

Does it have DSC to attach to my marine radio?

    It doesn’t look like it.

The 917 does have NMEA 0183 output, which is what is required for DSC.

Thanks for the info. I will update the software as soon as the unit gets here.

Captzapp – You’ll love the 917C. Great unit! Yours is on the way to it’s new home in your boat. Thanks again for your business!

For anyone else looking for a great GPS/Sonar Combo, there are just a few of the Humminbird 917C units left at this closeout price.
