The 917 is now a legacy product, replaced by the 858 which is rolling out over the next month.
The 917 is going to be a very nice sonar/GPS combo for you. The 7″ screen will make it easy to run in split screen mode and still see what you’re doing.
Make sure that you download the latest software from Humminbird.com (after registering your unit) to take advantages of all the software enhancements that have been rolled out since your unit was manufactured.
