Friday night, was back guiding out on LCO we trolled crawler harnesses on the flats, got a nice low 30 inch pike and about an 18 inch walleye, all just before a storm drove us off the lake. we were trolling in 12-16 feet of water.

Saturday morning, walleye fished out on Sand Lake, the walleye bite was slow, we had a lot of hits, but we only landed 3 walleye, all 15-16 inches on jigs and minnows in the weeds. In the afternoon, took a couple of casts for muskies on the chip, but nothing to show for our efforts.

Sunday, guided back out on the chip, we crappie fished in the morning, and got probably about 50-75 crappies, we didn’t keep any. In the evening we casted stick baits over weeds for whatever would bite, we got a few pike, and one walleye about 18 inches, that we let go. Water temps on the chip are in the low 60’s.

    Heavy storms rolling through today.

    Good luck,

Great report Tanner, heading up to the U.P. on Friday for a week of fishing, I’ll be targeting walleyes & smallmouth bass. basically fishing deep weed lines, throwing live bait and hairjigs…….Plan is to work the flats adjacent to deep water to contact post spawn fish…Keep the faith!!

    hairjig:

You have a decent game plan for the walleyes, though at dawn/dusk you may be able to contact them shallower yet. Our water temps here U.P. way are just barely 60 degrees.

For the bass start your search a little shallower to the first break as the bass have not spawned yet. You may find the males up on the just made beds, but the females are just getting up there in most cases unless your target lake is pretty shallow. Good Luck, if your’e going through Minocqua stop and give a shout!!!
