I can get in a new 07 alumacraft dominator sport 175 with a 150 evinrude e-tech for $21,995. Anyone have any opinions on this set-up? Pros, cons of alumacraft vs. other brands you have run. I have never been in an alumacraft before, just lunds and crestliners. Will I be happy with this boat and motor?

A buddy of mine has this boat, and loves it. I have fished with him a few time, and have been impressed myself. Dry ride, and LOTS of room. He has a 115 yamaha on his, and may be a bit under powered hitting about 37-38 loaded with 3 guys. That etech should move that rig along very nicely. Hope this helps.

Sounds like a VERY nice rig to me. I switched back to Alumacraft last November [Navigator 175 CS] and really love the boat. The 2XB Haul is really nice and their boats have alot of room and storage. Sharp rig. My son has ran several Etecs and has really likes them [different new boat each year].
    Thanks, Bill

You’ll love it and the price is outstanding . I have a Trophy 175 with a 115 E-tec and enjoy the ride in rough water. Going from one wave to the next is not punishing like it was with my Lund. I keep expecting a bone jarring landing that never comes. Go for it.

I have had the opportunity to demo drive that boat with the e-tec 150…better strap yourself in when you put the hammer down…tremendous torque…alumacraft makes a fine boat with good hardware etc…I have the 185 tourney pro with the e-tec 150…Have the I-Command gauges..info…trolls 2.2-2.6mph..11.4-14.5 mpg..mph around 50….torque great…temp 155F at idle…at WOT 135F….cruises at 30 mph(11 degree trim, load 33%, gph 5, 3400 rpm)running 19″ viper will be trying 17″ to get more rpm…I-Command monitors all engine functions plus a host of other data to numerous to mention…can scroll thru 64 items/gauge…love the fuel used/trip…/season/tank…all measured off the injectors(no more bouncing fuel gauge needle)..starts on 3/4 trun of flywheel and idles as smooth or smoother than my 115 4 stroke yammy did…forgot to mention…burns .18 gal/hr at idle(trolling)…just smoked my yammy in fuel use as I pull allot of cranks…my e-tec is a 2008 and has 51 hrs on durning the first month…have 2 7/8 yrs before has to go to dealer!!!!…Black boat and american flag graphics on the motor….many comments on the looks of the rig…you will enjoy…check LaCannes in Faribault for great pricing

My neighbor just got the 2007 with a 140 (I think). Paid a little under 20k which included trolling motor and a LMS-520C (I think). He has been happy as heck with it so far, especially the way it handles on the rollers Mille Lacs can give out.

Now if I could only convince the wife.

I’ve run the Nav. 175CS since august of 2004 with a Merc. 115 4 Stroke (a yammi with a black hood). I have to say, I have been more than happy with this rig. GPS speed of 42-43mph with only me, T8 and loaded boat. I love the 2xb hull. There are a lot of nice boats on the market in this catagory, but I have to say that after almost 3 years running my rig, it still is awesome. My boat is rated for 140, and think my 115 is the bottom line for power (Merc. did not make the 135 4 stroke until the next year). That sport model seems like a great boat and 150 should be more than enough.
    my 2 cents.
