    hi all…I just went to accept an invite from ido on facebook…and it says I won some sort of prize…but in order to claim it…I have to sign up to some movie thing thats for free…with a credit card…im leary on putting my card on something like this.
    it says to take a screenshot afterwards and send in back to facebook on the ido page
    is this legit or some scam from a company thats meant to be ido…

    Scam! Just delete the request. Striker has a similar hacker trying for the same scam right now. Pages on Facebook are not friends that you can be friends with. They are pages you either follow or don’t, so if you get friend requests from pages that you follow generally they are spam/scam/hackers.

    Basic rule of the internet/social media, if you didnt sign up for a specific contest it’s likely spam. And if it sounds too good to be true it probably is.

    To be fair, spam/scam/hackers happen everywhere, not just Facebook. It happens via email, text, social media. Even here on IDO we’ve seen some odd things! (Tina, Dana the Nudist, etc.).
