Fry, lucky you! I just got back. Curious if you are planning to float the White River while you’re there? Some of the best brown trout fishing anywhere as you probably know. We usually fish the river early and late – before and after the guide boats are on the water – and jump over to Bull Shoals to escape the crowds during the day.

Didn’t fish the White River for trout, or Norfolk for Stripers… things I’d really like to do next time. All in a days drive from dreary Minnesota.
May 9, 2022 at 11:00 am #2122927First outing of the year was a success! Okoboji typically kicks my butt but this year they set up to my strenght!
May 27, 2022 at 7:20 pm #2127089Anyone wondering if those imitation duck lures might work this time of year … friend of mine in the boat today caught a 17 inch largemouth and pulled this out of its throat ~
May 29, 2022 at 9:19 am #2127183Best one from my tournament last weekend. Only picture worthy fish for me so far this year. Just over 4 lbs.
May 29, 2022 at 12:23 pm #2127190Been fishing Roy lake in SD the last few days.
Lots of little guys 12 to 13” fish. A few 2 lbers sprinkled in.
Caught this 19” fish this morning off a lay down with a tube. Most of the fish have came on a tube fished on the outer edge of dead reeds or around timber in the water.Small mouth are a mix of on beds and some fish roaming. The bedded bass will hit a drop shot. The cruising fish have came on an X rap.

It was really tough on a lake that should give up 15 lbs easily. I won with 13.47 and many didn’t get 5 fish. I couldn’t get bit on anything at any depth until I started throwing a frog in slop. Caught 5 keepers on that that gave me around 10 lbs. About 30 minutes left I was pitching to docks trying to catch a solid fish and spotted a huge bass on a bed.
Unfortunately my boat was going over the top of it and I noticed it circling very tight to the bed. I drifted over it turned the boat around quietly and pitched a t rigged rage bug into the bed. Right when it hit the bed she picked it up and swam out of the bed. Then I jacked her and it was on. Probably the best execution from start to finish on a fish catch I’ve had. Very fun.

X2 good work that’s a big largie.
July 1, 2022 at 2:04 pm #2133040Count me officially as a fan of the post spawn summer patterns. Pretty much everything was working today (topwater, jigs, plastics), many fish between 17 and 20 inches, the biggest a whisker shy of 21.
July 2, 2022 at 9:26 am #2133096Nice Frydog! I totally agree on the summer pattern. I used to really struggle and now that I’m comfortable fishing off shore it is incredibly fun. You just catch so many more fish and better quality. Here’s my last big one that got me big bass for the second event in a row. On the neko of course! 4.07 lbs from White Bear Lake, which is a darn nice bass for that lake.

Neko rules!

Is that the weigh in right in the water there? Lol that’s interesting. Can’t say I’ve seen that before.

Yeah. We only do it because that was White Bear and at 1 pm on a Saturday it’d take forever to do a weigh in in the launch lot. So everyone beaches their boats in the nice sand bar and enjoys a wade.

Nice fish frydog. It’s a blast when that summer pattern kicks in. Those are some nice looking fish. Keep on them.
July 7, 2022 at 9:12 am #2133781Prefishing last night was a struggle. Very few bites to be had just about everywhere I went. Only could get bites on the nerd rig. Hopefully it was just the bite and it will improve by Saturday. One of the few I got was the right kind at least! Would’ve loved to have seen her before the spawn.
July 11, 2022 at 1:04 pm #2134440Nicest smallie I caught up on Vermilion a couple weeks ago. Fun to have the kids in the boat and the in-laws boat next to us when I caught it. Smaller one had really cool markings on it, so I had to take a picture.
July 11, 2022 at 1:15 pm #2134448Had some decent smallie fishing on Rainy. Most 12-18”, but my buddy did get his PB 21”.
August 20, 2022 at 5:58 pm #214265121.25 inch August Carolina-Rig largemouth with a weight plobrem …
August 26, 2022 at 5:14 pm #2143908Caught a couple solid ones on the pond yesterday. Overall it was pretty slow but still nice to get a couple over 3 lbs. One of these days I’ll have a good day up there.
sorry for ultra sales-y pic with the rod. Was getting some content for TUCR and that was the only pic I got with that fish.
