I plan on fishing between Clearwater and st cloud. I will be targeting eyes and smallies.

The wind seems to follow me anywhere I fish lately which made most of the spots I wanted to hit hard to fish. I took a break and did some hiking on a few islands this afternoon when the wind was really blowing. Ran across a few turkeys and a couple does.

Water levels keep me from getting to it this year, but I put my dad and wife on a couple dozen nice smallies, 16-20″ last fall with a couple eyes. Pretty short run, but they stack up. Outside bend with gravel and mixed boulders, oh its sweet.
1/8 jig and ripple minnow firetiger they crush. Outfished the old man 5-1 with suckers. They still dig that color this year too. Before dawn the eyes will smoke the chartreuse ringworms then when that first smallie bites at daybreak I switch over to the minnow combo. Our river stretch north of SAF is so different from our southern counterparts.
That is so cool you go through terrain like that, man that’s got to get nerve racking. Hope to see a report for tomm. outing!
