Numerous shanties are popping up now and reports telling us of between 6 – 8 inches of good ice. Certain traveled areas are marked allowing us to travel around pressure crack and wet looking areas. AGAIN ALWAYS USING CAUTION AND WATCHING CONDITIONS!
Still hearing reports of several fish here and there with again catches of many undersize walleye and too some nice perch being iced.

Jigging methods with Raps, Pimples and other spoon types still prevail as well tip-up sets with sucker/shiner minnow combinations off bottom several feet and more. No real set depths for fishing so it’s important to move around,

Foot, ATV and snowmobile travel is good on the northern part of the Bay and from the Saunders Point area south I’d still use some caution as the Coal Barge had just finished a trip through on Tuesday. Won’t be long though,

Keep in touch fisherman as we’ll be setting shanties now and getting geared up for the season. See you on the ice,
Marty
