Mississippi River Upper Pool 4 Report

I had the opportunity to get out on the water today for the first time in quite a while, as a matter of fact the last time I was out was the Get Together. I tried several presentations but the walleyes were definitely elusive for me today. The only bite I could get going today was the sheepies on crank baits. This beauty was caught on a # 7 Deep Runner Rapala Shad Rap in Fire Tiger. Maybe I should have went bow hunting instead of fishing

Oh well there is always next time

If you are looking to get your kids into a lot of fish this is a great time to hit the water as the sheepie action is fast & furious right now. Kids do not care what species they catch , if the fish are biting that’s all that matters. So get your kids out soon for some sheepie action they will have a blast!!!

  1. Found the same on pool 2 today. Sheepies going nuts on bombers. I knew they where there. What suprised us was there where walleyes mixed in with them. About 3 to 1 sheepies over eyes. The action was good.

  2. oh man, it was ridiculously slow for the walleyes saturday . we only got one 17″ and one short one (and when i say we i mean my partner). those sheepies and little cats were sure choppin though. at least kept you somewhat interested .
