Horseshoe Chain, Richmond, Mn, June 15th. Walleye

I got out this morning at 6:30am for a search for the Chain eyes. I found them pretty quick stacked up in 17-20 ft on a steep break that went as deep as 25ft. I instantly caught a small 13incher pulling a spinner with a leech, Then it got tough. I spent the next 30-45 minutes with the same set-up with notta. Knowing the fish where still in the area, as the graph was peppered with them, I began switching my presentation. After slowing down with a lindy float using a leech and then minnow with no luck, I tried a little jigging.

Did not take long! pulling in four in 20 minutes or less. (again in the 13 or 14 inch range) they stopped again.

That’s when I decided to take a ride and seek new water. I ended up going to a spot that produced pretty well for me last year in mid June, I again graphed a few fish. Again I was in a pretty quick drop from 8ft to 25+ ft of water over 15 yards or so. I tried all my magic methods again with nothing happening. I would have tried pulling a few crankbaits but that box was left at home. I suppose that’s what they wanted today. Time to go to work, I will try again tomorrow night. Good fishing to ya! Sorry no pics. The camera was next to the crankbait box.

  1. I didn’t come across any. But I did see a few others sitting in some good spots for cats and they weren’t moving.
