Oh, so GM owners are just abusive and neglectful?
no, usually it’s abuse and neglect… the other times it’s just a GM

For last truck (2013 ram) mannual said change at 120k or 60k if “using your vehicle for police, taxi, fleet, or
frequent trailer towing.” Mechanic was adamant that it didn’t need to be changed at 60k but told me it was starting to look like it needed it around 90k and did it then. They continued to say it was fine until 165k when I traded it in. Never had a transmission issue.
Seems odd to me that most people are convinced the engine oil intervals are too long but then push transmission, differentials, and transfer case longer than recommended or just never do it.
Probably doesn’t help that it’s a lever being sideways like that. Don’t know how to describe how tight to get them but I crank mine hard, they are pretty tough. If you go too hard and break it, before it stops slipping, you need a bigger size anyways so I’d just try it.
RAM 5.7 Hemi is coming back… they fired the CEO who made the call to discontinue it.
Oh, I hadn’t seen that. If they make it to 2035 maybe I’ll get one again
If I were buying a new truck today it would be the Ford 2.7 or 5.0, and the Ram 5.7 would be higher on my list than anything from GM or Toyota.
Ram 5.7 is gone too, 2024 was last year
YOLO
I bet the original owner of my boat paid cash, there was no lien. He had a stroke before ever putting it in the water though.
Eggs must be good for you with their elevated prices.
I was told the prices have come 93% in the last few months so I think they’re bad again
There was some big hail in some areas, this is from Beaver Creek. And a tornado in Faribault it sounds like, saw a video of a flattened barn with debris flung all over.
That just seems so strange. Would make sense if some big hub printed all the states, but I didn’t think that was the case.
Aspira is in Texas and does MN, CO, and some other states. Probably just put it in the wrong envelope.
I did some emergency piling of crap into my boat and anywhere it would fit to get my truck in the garage for the first in 15 years. Metro area should now be safe from hail
Pretty sure that’s the size I have and I like it. It does tangle hooks but never had much trouble getting them out, not a big enough problem for me that I’d give up having it fit in a storage compartment. Don’t think I’ve netted a “big” northern but maybe like 30″ or 32″ and it’s good enough if you happen to catch one.
If you are looking for other space saving things look up “box anchor”. I use the “baby” size for a competitor 165 and it works great.
Regarding letting your leaves blow into the neighbor’s yard or worse the street (public works has to clean) … don’t be that guy.
I’m kind of joking. They all blow around so I get the neighbors, the other neighbor gets mine. I do mine eventually but I’m definitely not going first.
If I didn’t bag my back yard would be ankle deep mulch and it won’t disappear in a few weeks. I do mulch them and bag them though because raking sucks and a lot more fits in a bag mulched. Even then I have about 35 bags from just the back yard of a 1/4 acre lot. The front yard is easier, they blow away to be someone else’s problem
Probably I just never noticed it because I generally dont go to the forum pages and just click on Active topics which is a mix from everywhere.
Well it’s certainly never meant anything
If you go to the “General Discussion” home page, at the top there is a message now that political and religion related topics will be deleted. I dont recall seeing that before but I normally just go to active topics not the home pages.
That’s been there forever
Less likely to hit the wolf too
No worries, I’ve seen John Wick multiple times
Same for me, I’ve pulled a 60″ out on a much smaller boat but if that happens I’m not having fun.
Does anyone know why Easter varies from year to year? Sometimes it’s in March and this year it’s like 3 weeks later. I find it odd that its not on the same Sunday each year.
First Sunday after the first full moon after spring equinox or something goody like that.
I’ve not shopped used boats very much but some were higher $$ than what I paid new.
Yeah, maybe. Prices are bonkers now so list it high if you aren’t ina rush and see what happens.
Be on the look out for wolves as well. I know the area I hunt we heard them pretty much all day very close by.
A sled dog place scared the crap out of me once before I knew they were in the area. All sorts of howling and yipping coming straight for us through the woods! Double timed it back to truck and got dog inside. Turns out the trail I was on curved back close to main road amd it was a pack of sled dogs coming around the bend all hooked up to a summer exercise rig
Does your woods need a fair amount of management/ invasive control?
Main issue, I think and from the brief review with forester, is just that it’s old. Probably hasn’t been managed at all for 20+ years. The only other thing I’m aware of is some spruce budworm damage.
The ones I have read are quite intensive in the diversity of properties.
I think I need to cut a lot down to get some new growth. I have about 15 acres of aspen, for example, that was previously clearcut and it’s all 25(?) years old and exactly the same height with no young stuff. The rest is a mix of northern MN swamp stuff that’s too thick in areas and choking each other out.
I’m hesitant to just start cutting too much down without knowing what I’m doing since it’s a pretty long term commitment. Would the plans be pretty specific about exactly where to cut and how much?
That being said I want to be careful, especially for the dog, and always consider all safety aspects before and during a hunt. Walking a trail trying to hunt with a dog while the side by side parade goes on has no appeal to me.
I wouldn’t worry about safety too much, you can hear them coming from a mile away. I always have plenty of time to get my two dogs back and hold their collars and half the time I still end up sitting there for awhile until they actually catch up to me.
Those who want to buy it can line up to get filthy rich off all the CRP profits if they want.
The local SWCD forester gave me info to enroll in SFIA which pays 11.02 to 19.50 per acre
Garmin 106 Ultra 1, Garmin, 93, Helix 12 hooked to the new house lithium I’m planning one. 50ah doesn’t seem like enough, 100ah too much?
Max power draw on those combined says 7.2 amps so using 90% of a 50ah would give you a bit over 6 hours. I highly doubt they draw Max power all the time but if you need to feel better about buying a bigger battery there you go
I’d rather they get subsidized to support wildlife and other environmental concerns than get subsidized to grow more corn.
Never done it but I’d be shocked if hunting off an ATV increased your success rate.
Of course it does, you cover so many miles and see birds standing in the open instead of flushing in the trees.
I only drive a few miles to my walking spots and have seen up to 9 or 10 on the road in just that time. If I was popping them from an ATV, which is what many are doing, I could get limit before even making it to my first spot.
You think they are getting off the ATV?!
I see some wild stuff up by Kab and Crane, but I am aware I am likely on the more extreme end of the spectrum and know not everyone is like them.
By Isabella I’ve seen a Jeep passenger sitting sideways, with their feet on the running boards, holding their gun while they slowly drive down the forest roads
Kind of unrelated but has anybody been to Stony River Cafe before it closed? The owner Tom was hilarious. One time I was eating breakfast and a family of ATV riders came in and the kids were bragging about all the grouse they got. Tom asks “Oh yeah, you shoot ’em out of the air”? And they all said “well…” and he just grunts and walks away from their table before they even finished
Here’s a good example of company specific chargers, they even have the same model number
