Tip Down Storage

I’m curious if anyone out there has an innovative way of storing/transporting their tip down and rods? The rods I have are 31″ long in addition to the wood stands. I’m not a fan of having those rods sitting in a bucket seeing they are cheap rods and seem to break fairly easy (definitely have broken a few myself). Anyone have any brilliant ideas using storage bins or something of the sort?

Buy innovative tip downs. I used to use the wooden ones that folded flat but then had the same situation you do. The innovative ones are self contained, durable to just throw in your sled, and spool line to fish that have hit your bait better than anything else on the market.

I use one of the cheaper Rod Storage bags. Cabelas and Fleet both sell them. It has a storage pocket on each side and one in the middle. The rods go in the middle and I can fit 2 of the wooden stands in each of the side pockets. I can fit 4 tip downs without an issue. The one I have is the Clam Blue color.

I use a kitty liter bucket and bolted 1.5″ X 4″ pieces of PVC inside for the rods to sit in.

Ice nuts do you still make tip downs? If so I’m interested in a few

I do something similar but with a 5 gallon bucket. I added 2 liter soda bottles with the tops cut off, also bolted in, for my tip ups. Works ok but the bucket takes up space. I am thinking about a soft sided rod case for my tip ups and tip downs.
