Thanks so much Stanley our power came back within 20 minutes of the last post. Phew. Now everything is trying to get caught back up. Definitely going to get a generator even just a small one even though it’s so rare we lose power. This was the longest I think we have ever been without power but I think that’s largely because they couldn’t control the fire so the Stearns trucks wouldnt come near it. This was only 75 yards from my house.

Glad it all worked out but the not knowing when it will come back on sucks. My parents live in St. Cloud and were always loosing power. I told them they could use my generators but they decided this year to get a whole house generator then the one time power went out they weren’t even home to see how it worked

It’s like a July blast furnace out there today. On May 11. Not a fan

93 up here in the falls. Really nervous about what this is going to do to my crappies. I’ve had it happen other years where it gets really warm then cools off like it’s supposed to and those fish come up shallow then leave and don’t come back. I’m not a big conspiracy theory guy but the wind! It never used to be this windy all the time. Something is changing.

Have to embrace it when you get that dry heat up north.

I was recently looking through the historic temperature records for MN and it is super interesting. There were days below freezing in mid-late summer and days in the 80’s in December. Crazy stuff like that was happening 40 years ago and as far back as the 1800’s.

The above numbers and dates are not exact but you get the point. Here’s a link:

I will say it has been pretty consistently windy the last 4-5 years it seems——maybe longer——year round. Definitely a noticeable difference from not too long ago.

I’m sure the draft feels good but if your sack is hanging out they’re too short!

There are places that have been 85+ and will then have a couple inches of snow this weekend if the forecast holds true this far out.

I broke down and turned my AC on yesterday. 92 degrees is just too hot for this guy.

Does cutting down every tree in sight and bulldozing hills flat make a difference in the winds? While temps flex up and down through the years and decades I’m most concerned about the amount of trash in the oceans.

The farmers will rotate between it’s to “hot & dry” and it’s to “wet” to plant. This has been going on forever also. But….without them we don’t eat which I like to do. grin

Wow that is a really extreme swing. We do need rain though.

Yeah the temps starting this weekend look to be well below normal for many people.
